Pile of Steaming Veg!!

What an afternoon.
Deciding that I'd like to read the paper over lunch I tool myself to the shops. Only to realise the second the door shut I had no key, phone and Ben was still in Luton.
As if this wasn't rubbish enough I had a pan of steaming vegetables on the hob, brilliant!
Well to cut a long story short after an hour of neighbours trying to drill, pries and break into my house. I couldn't take the view of the pan slowly turning black through the kitchen window and the smell of burning seeping under the door.
I took matters in to my own hands and smashed the window. Surprisingly satisfying as I felt on the verge of tears!
Anyway I would like to thank my Knights in a bobble hat and grey jumper for fitting a new lock and chip boarding my window up!! Ace, but rubbish as it'll cost me.

Groan!!!

Well Christmas is over, but that doesn't mean you still can't have a great time and a laugh!!
But maybe not with these lame jokes circulating and this sickly image of fun!!!

Why was Santa's little helper feeling depressed?
He had low elf-esteem.

Barnfield Crew!!

Oh my, this is from the night when I met up with my old friends. Who'd have thought that 14 years later we'd still get on wonderfully.
Ben I saw about 2 years ago, Louise about 12, and the last time we were all together 14 years.
Wow, but haven't we aged well.
Twas wonderful. xxx

Words speak louder than actions!!

This is the card that Neil and Sarah gave us for Christmas. Nice!!!
But inside reads "More Love Than You Can Imagine With Two Or More Brains".
I have such wonderful buddies.

Gifts a plenty!!

Here's a selection of some of the lovely/(some) unusual gifts that I recieved yesterday.

Not one, but two great watches. Wow, that's more choise than I've ever had when it comes to wrist accessories!! Cheers Ben. (also I got a lovely homemade brooche, I'll scan that later too!)

Lovely, lovely limited addition Squirrel prints from Neil and Sarah, aswell as Adam and Joe dvd, powder puff and homemade card. (I'll scan that another time!)

A crazy cat picture, from Andrew and Rachel, which will no doubt take pride of place somewhere in our living room.

All wonderful, thoughtful, exactly me type of gifts. You know me well. Cheers.

Crimbo 09

I'm completely exhausted. Christmas has been as wonderful as ever but made even more special by seeing two old and close friends. Only trouble is, I drank too much, ate no food and subsequently ended up rather drunk. That was yesterday, and it has made today slightly quieter on the festive front. Only 2 small drinks for me, but of course plenty of grub!!!
I got fabulous gifts, of which I will post photo's of at a later date, but the best thing of all was sharing it with these lovely people.
From top left: Andrew, Ben and Neil
From bottom left: Rachel, Me and Sarah
We spent alot of time taking portraits having a crossbow tornement (explanation at a later date), playing The Name Game, eating and generally having a fab time.
Thanks for the memories guys.

Happy Crimbo

Now is there anything in the world sweeter than a long-tailed tit? Probably not, although shrews to come a pretty close 2nd.
Anyway Happy Christmas and New Year to anyone that cares about me and vice versa and see you in the New Year if not before.
Be Happy.xx

Leslie Hall

Now this lady does many things. Sings/raps, paints, makes rugs, appears on Yo Gabba Gabba. But the best thing she does is collect jumpers. Wow, what an almighty collection of hideous jumpers, I love them and great hair.

These are pretty special too!

Making s**t shine!!

This is a cushion I did a while ago. I didn't like it, it was rubbish. The fox was just weird, he had a wonky eye and it was just not right!
Anyway, my friend Andrew came to visit a few weekends back and said how much he liked it, even if it did have a lazy eye (thanks for pointing it out!!). I commented on how I might deface it by making blood run from the said eyeball!!
So here it is (and it's your Christmas present Andrew) so enjoy it's rubbishness!

Middle Aged!!

Tis the Season to be jolly!! And who could resist this middle aged man's charms? It is hard, but as he is unattainable he will just have to be viewed and admired from afar!

Who will get lucky with these wonders!!

What a productive Sunday morning. Another 2 cards made, well bodged together. Who will be the lucky recipients of such delights!

How can he look so happy when that photo actually exsists!

Utter randomness.

(Not so) Good Tidings I Bring!!

The making of Christmas cards began yesterday. Maybe should have started a little earlier but what can I say, the festive (sic) time has snuck up on me!!
I would like to thank World of Interiors for the heads and bird and Guardian's (slightly irritating!) Saturday magazine for backgrounds, and me for bad drawing!!

If this is my last entry before Xmas then Good Tidings to everyone that's special to me, you know who you's are!!

It's time I got creative!!

I've been doing a lot of thinking recently, maybe too much, but all with a positive outcome so great!
I used to be a hell of a lot more creative than I'm being at the minute, I suppose that's what comes with working and not being a student anymore, well that's rubbish!
Lacking confidence in my abilities for too long I have decided to take some action, kick myself up the arse and get on with things.
Encouraging words from certain individuals (you know who you are, thank you) have made me feel it's ready to stop messing about and put (whatever) skills I have to good use.

I think, so this doesn't just become words with no action I will:
Firstly book a space to have a mini exhibition.
Secondly: Do it!!
Thirdly: Watch this space.

The stuff I've been working on recently as I said previously I would like to make into little city scapes.
Below is a hat that I've made, was thinking this would be a good top to a building.
Sequins and beads are great and I'm going to develop some prints on these to go with it, I've been meaning to do stuff with these photo's for years so now I will!!

Making things

Over the past few months I have been spending a day a week with my lovely friend Susie. We have been using the time to either work on some stuff together or use the time to be creative individually.
I began making hats/accessorise and now they have morphed into some kind of Art Deco inspired over sized brooches! I'm thinking of printing some fabric and making a city scape from them.
Not sure yet, but I like the process of sticking and building so I will just carry on and see what evolves.
The fabric in the background is from a design I did a while back. Susie gave me this great paper backed fabric you put through the printer, the bonus is that it's silk!!
