Studio Legohead is born!!

Hello.
Today I have made another trophy type thing.
As well as beginning a new sash.
Ben has kindly launched Studio-Legohead for me.
Only minor details on there at the minute but it's my first ever website.
I'm excited and thrilled.
And just pleased that now I believe I can actually do stuff, I can get on and do it!

Andy Warhol - David Bowie
Life On Mars from The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. (Official)
Unofficial!!
Heard this earlier, reminded me of being younger!
You and Me Song - Wannadies.

Happy Times!

Aghh, I can see the light.
I'm excited and now know how things are slotting together.
I knew they would eventually.
Even if at certain points I did doubt it!
It could all change again,
But for now I am happy with the results.
Now I just have to apply the same principles to previous items and fingers crossed all should be good!

I'd like to do this. Friendly Fires - Skeleton Boy
Not sure about the sentiment but I am liking the colour and graphics.
Rihanna - Rude Boy.
Maybe inspired by Keith Haring!
Colour and nice graphics again.
M.I.A. - Galang.
M.I.A.'s website, not afraid of over doing it!!

Too much with tassels?

This morning I have drawn tassels and stitched tassels!
I am not sure about them.
May cut them out and stitch onto a darker fabric.
We shall see how it goes.
Going to spend a small fortune at the hygienist later.
£31 for 20 minutes, someone's not stupid!
I'm going to persist with the stitch and see what unfolds.
Later. x
Tassels below.

Andy Williams - Moon River.
The Chordettes - Mr Sandman.
Herbie Hancock - Rockit. This is like some kind of video nasty! I'm not liking it's style!
Some "Love and Affection" from Joan Armatrading.

Patching Things Up!

Well the weekend has come and gone again.
Meeting up with friends for coffee and cake.
Turning into a half, turning into a pint.
Ending up in a curry with wine!!
I ate a whole naan, that's a first.
Not sure I needed it, paying for it today.
Today I decided to turn my hand to some patchwork.
Trying to capture the same style as the trophies!
We shall see.
Going to add some embroidered tassels I think.
May do some more drawing tonight.
See how I feel.

Listening to and enjoying.
Gorillaz - White Flag
Rhinestone Eyes.
Mike Flowere - Light My Fire. Silly, but strangely nice.
Leslie and The Ly's - Craft Talk.
Gravel In My Shoe.

Things can only get better!!

Found out today that lovely scientist Brian Cox used to be the keyboardist in D:ream!!!
That is as much as I can tell you this morning.
Oh I managed to knock an impressive 2 minutes of my normal running route!
How I managed that I don't know.
I actually felt far more shattered than normal.
Maybe the answer to both is, I was running faster!!!
Enough.
Recycling drawings and collage in attempt to get ideas for my fantastical trophies.
Drawings based on a hat I had made a while ago.

God I used to love these songs as a kid, still do!
Getting down to Kid Creole and The Coconuts!
Annie, I'm not you're Daddy. Some very horrible lyrics in this one. "Well if I was in your blood then you wouldn't be so ugly" Nice!
Being modest. I'm a Wonderful Thing Baby.

Getting organised/inspired!

Well, today I decided I needed to get organised.
This involved spending a surprising amount of money!!
Ink cartridges, sketchbook, Bondaweb, fabric, glue..
The list goes on.
But, I feel much better.
My thoughts are more organised and constructed.
I have heeded the advice I continually give the students.
I need a clear vision of what I'm trying to achieve.
I kinda knew, but now I feel much happier.
Hope your happy too! x

Eduardo Paolozzi, what a genius.
Sonia Delaunay.
David Hockney.

In the car today I had on Mr Samuels mix tape, these were some of the delights on offer!

Toto - Hold the Line. (With Lyrics!!)
Rainbow - Since you've Been Gone.
Boston - More than A Feeling.
Ludacris - Number One Spot.
Public Enemy - Welcome to the Terrordome.
Busta Rhymes - Woo Ha.

Persistance is the key!

Today although I have felt at times that I have not achieved a lot,
I turns out that I have.
More stitching on a piece I'm not so happy with.
E-mailed numerous publications about my exhibition.
And began to create one of the trophies I intend to include.
The idea being that there are sashes and trophies for the included canines!
So there we have it, a days work!
Unpaid!!

This reminds me of summer. Saint Etienne - Only Love Can Break Your Heart.
Neil Young performing the original. Is it ok to say I prefer the previous!!!?
Beach Boys - Vegetables. I never bore of this. I heard a rumour that you can hear Paul Macartney crunching a carrot on it!!
10cc - The Dean and I also reminding me of nice times.

Max Tundra made me do it!

Yesterday I went to Frome car boot.
Got some more fabric for cheapness!
Haven't used it yet, but I will.
Today I felt a bit stuck.
But with the help of not giving too hoots and Max Tundra,
I just got on with it and stitched, bondawebbed and felt a little insane.
I think I like the endurance of listening to music like this.
I feel a little manic and like I'm on fast forward.
Sometimes you need it.
I salute you Max!
You made me work, not sure if it's good or bad yet.
But I like feeling random, so it's good.

Not an official video but here's Merman. Lyrics here, it helps!
Live performance of Lysine. Lyrics here.
MBGATE. Lyrics here.

Sunday, time for carbooting!

Hello,
Been out for a lovely walk.
Saw a squirrel contemplate and attempt a death defying jump 3 times.
He succeeded!
Also saw a Jay, nice.
Went to see I Love You Phillip Morris.
I know loads of people hate Jim Carrey.
I have a soft spot for him, especially in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind!
Brilliant but sad all the same.

From the film, Beck.
I love this song, and film.
Is it right to find Gene Wilder attractive? Doubtful!
John Shuttleworth, not going back to Savoury.
And we all know about this nightmare!
Saw this ages ago.
It's nice up North.
A film about John Shuttleworth's theory that the further north you travel the nicer people get.
Filmed by the wonderful photographer Martin Parr.

Halo!

I'm still not sure about anything I have produced this week.
But I'll just keep going till I reach a happy place with it all.
On the plus side, my stitch is continuously improving.
Not sure if to go full on colour.
Should I just keep it plain?
I reckon just get on with it!!
Neither will change the world or harm anyone.
It's just an embroidery.
So I will plod on.
Have a lovely Saturday. x

I know everyone hated it, I didn't.
Happy and lovely.
The Cure-Mint Car.
Having a blast in Kew Gardens. The Caterpillar.
The Specials-gangsters.
The Stone Roses-Waterfall.

Bonjour, Ello, Ey up, Hiya!

I'm feeling in a bit of a silly mood.
Never sure if this is a good thing!
Must get working and stop wasting time.
I think looking at this made me chuckle!
Not that anything I've done is any better.
I reckon everyone should do one and add it to the gallery!
Anyways.
See ya later. I'm off to create.
I did this last night.

Watched the Blur documentary last night.
Lovely Graham Coxon.
You and I.
Betty Boo, "Doing the Doo".
Monie Love.

With the best will in the world!!

Urghhh.
That's kinda how I'm feeling today.
Work wise and personally!
As much as I've tried I seem to have achieved nought!
I guess that some days you just gotta go with it.
Chin up, onwards and upwards, be happy etc.
I hope you are.
I will be tomorrow, just going to go with the flow.
Maybe that pint and a half and a burger mid week didn't help!
I'm such a light weight.
What will happen when I turn 33?
Will I be worse!
No, I'll build up resistance to lovely Budvar!
Chin chin!

Heard this and like it, makes me feel hopeful.
Hopefully you too!
Mr Costello being great.
Midlake being all conceptual!! Makes me feel sad.
Julia Davis and Jessica Hynes being utterly wonderful but most definitely not cheering anyone up!!
Can't wait for that.
Loved Spaced.
Loved Nighty Night.
Hooray for depressing intelligent comedy!

This man has a sad face, but pattern behind showing good times.
Cheer up, it might never happen!

Slobber chops!

Today i had the dentist.
I got the right day at last.
It wasn't that bad at all.
Why have I been scared for so long!?
As well as dentistry, I have stitched this.
I'm not sure how I feel about it.
Stitch quality nice, just like my drawing, but...
is it just like any other generic dog picture?!!
It's on a huge piece of cloth, so I may do a long line up.
Also I propose bright random pattern all around.
I shall think about it.
Not bad for a days work though.

Mr Malkmus.
New Young Pony Club.
The Ting Tings.

Hip to Be Square(s)

The joys of cut out paper collage!
Ideas for repeats for sash's, scarves for the show.
It's all unfolding.
I'm still excited.

Huey Lewis.
Squarepusher
Square One TV
Wooden Block Animation

Unrequited Love!

Today I thought I had the dentist!
I didn't, but turned up anyway only to be told it's tomorrow!!
Oh well, I needed threads and things anyway.
This afternoon I have managed to finish stitching the Doberman Pinscher.
I'm not sure if these two are in love or annoyed with each other.
I guess it's one and the same.
Listening to Max Tundra and drinking coffee has left me feeling a little manic.

I found this earlier.
Koyaanisqatsi by Philip Glass. This makes my head spin.
I remember going to the toilet half way through it at the cinema and thinking my head might explode.
I loved it.
Same goes for Bjork in Dancer in the Dark.
It's one of those films that you may never watch again but came away feeling odd but enjoying the feeling.
Not sure the same can be said for Requiem For A Dream. Just came away feeling weird.
Brilliant all the same.

Saturday is..... OK!

The Saturday ritual continues.
Up early, run and drawing or stitching!
Today, some stitch followed by drawing.
To accompany my last embroidered canine i decided I needed a companion for him.
Grump No1 and Grump No2.
I've been deciding who should be seen with the Japanese Chin.
It's one of the 3 below anyhow!

Max Tundra getting sweaty and playing a keyboard made from Sushi.
Hip to be uncool! Darwin Deez.
Lots of colour and dance. M.I.A Boyz.

Cheesy tunes reminding me of good times!

Ominous lyrics and unsexy jumpers.
Yes, it's Jordan Knight.
This shouldn't be good.
It reminds me of good times laughing and dancing.
Especially thoughts of Mr Samuels.
Not in a sexy way!
Just in a wonderful friend way.
As does this.
Anyone would think Neil had bad taste in music, he doesn't!
This is for Miss O'Toole.
The times we have spent drunk singing (badly) to this.
Below: Jeff Koons does MJ.

Tuesday, 9 March 2010

Just 1 Girl.

Still drawing and enjoying.
Discovered the joy of a Japanese Chin dog!
What a sweet thing.
Fairly difficult to draw and not make it look deformed though.
Tomorrow evening I will begin to stitch again.
Night, theres a whole lot of 80's below!

This makes me think of summer: Golden Silvers.
This makes me Happy!
When In Rome, (have no style?!)
The dancing, the keyboards, the Steve Wright intro, whats not to love! Depeche Mode.
Lovely Napolean.
They like Sport.
Just Two Guys.

Monday, 8 March 2010

Chin Up!

Not sure why but feeling a little flat!
Well I do know, but I won't go into it.
Let's just say women sometimes suffer from it around 12 times a year!!
Enough info I'm sure.
Anyways. I'm ok really.
Met with my lovely, fabulous friend Susie.
This always cheers me up and I'm so happy to have her as a buddy.
Got myself a new keyboard.
As earlier my post had spaces inserted by cutting and pasting!
This was due to some green tea being spilled on my old one and probably too much fabric fluff clogging up the keys!
Sorry old keypad, I will do better this time.
Goodnight all. x

Belle and Sebastian
.
2 many DJ's. The Stooges vs Salt n Pepa.
Diana Ross.

Best in show(biz)!!

I had already had a few thoughts for the name of my show.
Ben had a suggestion last night.
This was based on me including celebrities that live in and around Bath!!
Best in Show(biz) was the title.
Not so sure.
And due to the attempts at some portraits I reckon its a no.
Apologies Mr. Cage, Mr. Nettles and Mr.Woods!!
Obviously there is intended humour!!

The Divine Comedy
.
Not sure why this is here or this.
Cheery!
Peter Sarafinowocz as Brian Butterfield!
Im having problems with my Mac at the minute Im having to cut and paste spaces!!
Its a pain. There is also no question mark available to me or a hyphen. Watch this.

Thinking about pattern!

I think my cold is going.
Slowly though.
Felt a bit nervous and on edge for no reason at all.
Wonder if it's the tail end of the illness.
I am feeling a little spaced out and weird!
Oh well, I have nothing to worry about so I'll just get on.
I've been thinking about pattern.
Things to be part of my exhibition.
Still looking at Art Deco with a Thameslink train decor touch!!

Been listening to Broadcast whilst working.
And again.
Go on Brian!
This is reminding me of being 18.
As does Janes Addiction "Been Caught Stealing".
Lady Gaga being fabulous.
Britney doing what she does best! Here too.
Shakira being blatant.

Better in the flesh!

Today I got up early, exercised and stitched.
Exciting times.
Well not quite but productive.
Yesterday I watched Moon which I enjoyed greatly.
Only really dawned on me this morning that there really just one actor throughout the whole film.
It's produced by Duncan Jones, son of Mr Bowie. Talented family!!

Here he is. I'm not sure it's right I find him attractive, but I do!
Scissors Sisters doing Pink Floyd!
And this sounds pretty similar at the start.
Also sounds a bit like this at the chorus!

Saturday, 6 March 2010

Whoop for Saturday!

Not as productive as I had hoped.
But I have gone for a run, drawn a few dogs.
Now updated this.
Off to meet lovely Hannah and Keith with Ben later.
Feeling all excited about my show.
Need to do lots more stitching though!

Today on my run I listened to this.
And this.
As well as this.
My feet struggled to keep up to this.

Happy day to you all.

Friday, 5 March 2010

Time to get to it!

Happy Friday.
I still have a stinking cold, but I reckon it's leaving.
It's time to get to it it now!
Although I've got nearly 2 months till my exhibition I am aware of how fast time flies.
I want it to be great and something I can be proud of.
I'm the only one that can make that happen though.
So more drawing, stitching and thinking for me.

Mr Wonder being super.
Gorillaz.

Grump

Urghhh.
Feeling a little under the weather.
This is effecting my creativity and enthusiasm!
I'll snap myself out of it.
Tomorrow I will wake bright and cheery.
This cold will not get any worse and it will be a good day.
The power of positive thought has been seeing me right recently.
No reason it can't continue.
For tonight though a grump is what I will be.
Which has ended in creating a grumpy (bad) drawing!

Mr Byrne being dramatic and fabulous.
Watch a man learn to dance!! Lets hear it for the boy.
Wonderful Armando Iannucci telling it how it is!

Happy Birthday Mum

This is my Mum.
Also known as Theresa.
It's her birthday today.
She doesn't celebrate it as she's a Jehovah's Witness.
But I wanted to say that I hope she has an ace day whatever she's doing!
She has been there for me whenever I've needed her.
And is one of my closest friends.
Love you mum.
(I know you'll hate this photo, but I think you look great)
