RIP

In memory of Casper the Commuting Cat.
Died 19th January aged 12.

Also John Berry (1920-2009), illustrator for Ladybird Books.

Talking of death.
Found out this morning when my dad's birthday was.
Being brought up as a Jehovah's Witness for 12 years it was never a big deal.
It's February 8th, he would have been 60.
Interesting, not to you maybe.
But maybe to me it is!!
Happy Sunday. x

Request!

I had a request for a drawing of a rat.
Hmm, not the greatest, but it s a rat.
I'll do a better one for you, promise!

This was the first song I remember crying to.
Obvious I know. Not sure why I'm thinking of it, but I am.
This is a bit more optimistic.
PMA!!
This was the 1st 7 inch I ever bought.
Still love 3 feet High and Rising.

Past and Present

It's been a thoughtful day.
Things from the past surfacing.
Some nice, some just fact.
It's all fine.
This is making me feel both happy and pensive.

I used to have a canary, his name was Sammy!!

Canary Yellow, colours etc....

So far today has been productive.
Stuff for work achieved, so now drawing.
Having a break from dogs, but they shall return.
Canaries, rabbits, a request for a rat!
I am however looking for distractions.
Maybe I'll get out for a bit.
These 4 walls etc, etc.......

Sweet Slag

Not sure why I've decided to add this at 11:50pm.
Everything has a reason.
This is to celebrate dreams, that my now deceased Dad once had.
Dreams of being a Prog rock star and doing what he loved.
Whether it's your cup of tea or not, there is no denying he was a pretty good drummer.
Well Mr Chambers you made it to the dizzy heights of You Tube!
I wish you could of been happier.
x

Note to self (and anyone else): I will remember what it is I love to do and try my bestest to do it well.
Or start something that I've always wanted to do and give it my best shot!

Unrelated picture, but I love to draw!

I asked for it!

Today on Facebook I said that I would take whatever 19th January had to offer me.
Egging it on more so with, "Give it your best shot"!
Well it gave me a flat tyre and made me late for teaching.
Still, there's a lot worse things happening out there.
Anyone that's having a turd like time, however minor or major, chin up.
Things will be good.
x

This never fails to cheer me up.

Looking Up!

The drawing is getting better.
My mood is improving, not sure for how long!
Sometimes it's the littlest things that can make your day.
If I was to come back as a dog, I think it would be one like this.
Yes he has a double chin, but the eyes make up for it!

This brings back memories.
As does this.
This has a good video.
And I quite like this too.

I am persistent. Sorry

Yeah, I am being a little persistent.
And it's not even getting any better!

I'm kinda throwing everything at it and hoping for the best.
"Less is more" though as my old tutor once said.
Your gonna make a pigs ear of stuff occasionally.
It'll all turn out good though, with time.
Be patient with me.
I'll be better!
Promise.

Stereolab again.
Listen.
And this.

She's The One, or possibly not!

Not sure if these drawings are getting worse.
I am an obsessive person and I guess doing this has became my latest thing.
It's not drinking or drugs, pretty harmless.
Maybe not as exciting though!
Still it doesn't really matter, it's the taking part that counts!!

I like the monotony of The Beta Bands "The Three EP's" CD.
This in particular.
As well as this.
I'll throw this one in too.

Proud of Myself!!

No, not particularly.
But I did go for my 3rd run of 2010.
I managed 30 minutes straight, so, pleased to say I haven't lost it!
If I ever had it!
It's been one of those mornings when nothing I do seems to be/go right.
Well you know what. Up yours Sunday.
You haven't defeated me yet.

I have created this horrendous mess but I will deal with it.
Worse things have happened!
This I like.
And who doesn't like this?

Hocus Focus, 31 Posts in January!

Just realised I've already done 31 posts this month!
Is that a little obsessive?
Maybe, still I'm being creative, which can never be a bad thing.
Also just realised I'm becoming poorer.
Should probably start getting my act together try selling stuff.
Or just hope for a decent pay cheque, that's doubtful this month!
I could only dream to be as good as Mr Koons.

Now here's a nice relaxing song to go to bed to!

A,B,C,D,E,F,G?! Alphabet Aerobics.

None of these things are remotely related.
This lady looks like she's of high class and morals but do not let the eye deceive.
She's as shifty as the rest!

I doubt she would listen to this.
And this lady certainly wouldn't cut it.
But I reckon that most women would like to be half as saucy as Deborah Harry!

Face Like A Spanked Arse!

Wishing I could say that I feel happier than this chap!
Unfortunately, probably about the same.
The mood will improve.
Hopefully bringing enthusiasm and clarity.

Stereolab:
You'll like these.
If you don't your rubbish.
Watch/listen to this. "The Noise of Carpet"
This is nice.
Watch/listen to this. "Neon Beanbag"

Onwards and Upwards Mr!

Yes it's another dog drawing.
Now new and improved!
Photoshop and scanning has been added.
Wow, the skills I possess!

Anyhow, like this little bugger I will soldier on.
I imagine him to be strutting around London searching.
For what I'm not sure.
You can fill in the blanks.
These people are lovely.
Cheesy, happy. Listen to it.
And this.

Why The Long Face?

No reason, other than being awake since 4.
Blasted mind racing!!
Still I have drawn this, maybe not such a plus.
But it exists now!!

Super Furry Animals:
Watch/listen to this.
Watch/listen to this.

Post No 100!

A special day!
Not really. But made lovely.
Had coffee with my fabulous friend Susie.
She said she had a sad thought the other day.
When I'm her age, she'll be 86.
She wondered if we'd still be friends.
Not a doubt. The best of friends.
I am blessed.

This fellow was drawn whilst listening to Tom Waits "Heart of Saturday Night".
I couldn't find a decent link, sorry.
Listen/watch this instead.
I remember seeing this episode of Dance Energy as a teenager.
Check out the outfits and dancing.
Memories!

Too Hell with Good Intentions!

They were my last thoughts from yesterday evening.
Listen to this.
Today however is a new day and I shall banish those thoughts.
And listen/watch this.

Tired Eyes!

Feel like I need sleep and thinking rest.
Hopefully bedtime will treat me kindly.
Beauty sleep is much needed, I can see the crows feet emerging.
Wondering if it was necessary to eat so much!
Sometimes you've just gotta to it.
Better than drinking I suppose.
I've done that too though.
Oops.
This is slightly depressing but lovely.
Listen.
Teenage angst has returned as well as a mid life crisis!
Night. x
This is nice to look at though.
Wonderful Mr Koons.

A Warming!

Yet another picture found of him.
Sweet face, sad eyes.
Nice to draw.
I am listening to this.
And liking this alot.

through the power of.....

Bad drawing.
This.
And this.
Has cheered me up.

Air.

Whilst listening to Phoenix it made me think of Air.
Which made me think of Virgin Suicides.
Which made me think of this.
I remember loving the book, liking the movie, loving the soundtrack.

Hello Sailor!

Not so sure about this one.
Still it's here.
Deal with it.
It will get better.
I am listening to this

Poor thing!

Trying to be productive.
Heating is on but not doing it's job.
I need a hat like this fella.
Cannot believe that I found 2 pictures of this little man.
Wearing different hats.
Poor thing.
He looks thoughtful.
Like me.
I am listening to this

Staying at home.

Yes today college is shut.
Again both happy and sad.
Happy to get time to draw.
Sad no pay!
Listening to this.

Tuesday, 12 January 2010

Stay at home day!

I may have to work.
I may not.
In celebration of snow I have drawn an early morning picture.
And listened to this.
Bitter sweet.

Happy,sad!

Today I listened to this.
I am both happy and sad.
Today I drew this.
I am both sad and happy.
Tomorrow who knows.
Maybe just so!

Monday, 11 January 2010

Doggy Don't!

Drawing skills fading as is my spirit.
I admit defeat.
I will be better.
Must try harder!

Dog Doo!

Today has been a bit of a poo. I'm tired and worn out.
Old brown eyes here is summing my mood up!
Tomorrow is another day and will be better.
x

Keep Warm, Be Happy!

Everything will be good. Promise!

Best in show!

Over the past few months I have been made aware of how blessed I am.
I quite frankly have the best people that I could wish for in my life.
You know who you are!
I thank you for your love. x

Ahoy there Hannah

Miss Buswell,
You have been a delight to see this week.
Go forth and make the greatest knitwear that anyone has ever seen.
You are completely capable and truly talented.
Go show them what you are made of. (But take it easy too!!)
See you soon.
Hopefully for the work in progress show.
xxxxxx

I will try harder!

Not my best effort!

Dog in Humans Clothing!

Idioms:
There's the obvious, wolf in sheep's clothing.
I had a look at what others gooden's there were.
Maybe a nice idea for a series of illustrations.
Maybe animal based!!
I only got to the letter C though.
There were 3000 odd, blimey!!

A problem shared is a problem halved
A slice off a cut loaf is never missed
As mad as a wrongly shot hog
Away with the fairies
Average Joe
Be careful what you wish for
Be true blue
Bedroom eyes
Between you and me and the cat's whiskers
Blow hot and cold
Break your duck
Chase rainbows
Colder than a witches tit
Cute as a bug

Animals in clothing, is it right?!!

Somewhere, someone thinks it's a good idea to dress animals up in clothing.
Not sure if I agree with it, but lets face it sometimes it is pretty funny!!
Somethings gotta get me out of this slump.
My rubbish creativity is being aided along by Architecture in Helsinki, "Frenchy, I'm Faking", Phoenix "One Too Many" and The Associates "Party Fears Two".

How to not cheer yourself up!

By doing some pretty awful drawings!!
The mouse is preferable over the god awful moggy.
Some days you just can't do anything right.
Tomorrow I will try again, or maybe later.
Depending!!

Monday, 4 January 2010

Which led me to this....

"The Fall".
A treat for the eyes also.
Be prepared to have a little weep at the end!

It made me think of this, then this!!

Whilst out in the visual delight below, it made me think of one of my favourite films, "Edward Scissorhands". What a lovely gorgeous, saucy thing he is!
Then it made me think of Tim Burton, which then made me think of "The Nightmare Before Christmas". Let's face it, in the world of stop frame animation lovelies, Jack Skellington isn't too bad either!!

Just from watching the trailer to "Edward Scissorhands" though, I'm nearly reduced to an emotional wreck. So sad, so lovely, so beautiful to look at!

By Eck that's beautiful!

Today whilst doing things other than work, I was given the visual spectacle of seeing the Bath countryside covered in frost and a light scattering of snow.
It was truly beautiful and stunning and could have only been made more pleasurable had there been someone else with me to witness the delight. (I did have a sweet treat with me though, so that makes up for it!)

Disclaimer: This is not an actual picture of today's wonders, but it does look remarkably similar. So thank you to whoever it was that took this picture and thank you internet for making it possible for me to use it!!

Alan, friend to Peter Serafinowicz

My Lutonian pal Alan Davies has been chosen to be Peter Serafinowicz's friend on Twitter. Well done Al, I bet your mum is very proud!!
Alan takes pictures of everything he consumes in a day and manages to make them look, either hideous, straight out of a 70's cooking manual or just too colorful for words!!
Here's a selection.
Which reminds me. the other day he informed me he'd eaten a whole selection pack in one go!!

Mmmmmm!!! What an earth is that ominous brown blob?!!

Pretending to be young and cool!!

Flash back to Christmas Day:
Yes, it's that time old Christmas tradition of getting the people that your celebrating The Lord's birthday with to stand for portraits in a bathroom!!
No particular reason for the bathroom other than it had a lovely coloured wall, "Ahhh, pretty colours!" (no one ever say I'm easily pleased).
What a bunch of tit's, but good, lovely ones!!
Cheers Mr Neil for taking the shots (Neil is the only person I know that carries a tripod round with him!).

Mr Neil

Miss O'Toole

Mr Demotivator (Andrew)

Rach

Mr H-C

Old Wonky Face! (Me, Christ, is that what I look like? Really!!)
