So it's been ages.
I've tried to draw and I feel I'm loosing it!!!
Only joking, but the first picture I did just tear up!
Shocking. It is true use it or loose it.
I'd better get on the case.
Anyway here is a wonky faced Japanese Chin dog.
Such a sweet squashed face thing.
Have a great week. x

Mr X Stitch featured me!
So the other day I had the pleasure of being featured on Mr X Stitch, brilliant!
The site has contemporary needlecraft and embroiderers work showcased regularly, and there's tons of things that you can become involved in, as well as meeting like minded people.
The Flickr page is great too, where you can take part in embroidery/needlecraft swaps with people all over the world.
Really I don't know wherre this guy finds the time.
But I'm glad he does as it means that I get to be featured and meet some lovely folk through it.
So thanks. x
Also Jamie, who is Mr X Stitch, lives in the wonderful Milton Keynes.
Not so far from my hometown of fabulous Luton!!

Making others happy is a nice thing!
Today the lovely Anne Burton of Beantown Handmade blogged about the embroidery I gave her Bean, her beloved dog!
She said some lovely things about the piece and I'm delighted she loves it so.

Thanks for the eye candy!
Right, so last night I felt a desire to draw before bed.
Too much prep work and non-fun things meant no time for what I love to do.
The other day I came across Sarah Beth's fabulous work.
I got in touch to say hi and funnily enough she used to live near Bath and Bristol in South Dakota!
Anyway enough of my rubbish anecdotes!
I hope she wont mind, but I used one of her photo's to do my part blind drawing last night.

No time for being creative!
So it was back to full on teaching this week.
That as well as other commitments has meant not much tome for doing what I enjoy the most!
The same for the weekend too, so full on.
So, just to satisfy my own needs I did a few blind drawings.
Nothing mind blowing but nice to draw.
Soon hopefully I will have more time to dedicate.

Getting on, doing stuff.
Today has been slow, but I've eventually got there!
Bit of tidying, painting, listening to Adam and Joe.
Where I was reminded of this New Order song, Regret.
Forgotten how much I used to love it.
Always slightly melancholy, but always beautiful!
Feeling a little worn out, but I can't be.
Gotta be on top form for all the teaching I'm about to embark on tomorrow.
Hope you have had a lovely weekend with lots of relaxing and nice times.

Adding colour + painting = unexpected results
After finishing my drawings the other day and last night.
I decided to dig out my paints.
Haven't painted in such a while.
Was never sure if I was a: any good with them, and b: liked the medium.
Turns out I actually quite like the process.
This mixed with drawing and using graphics pens, is another step closer to exploring and developing what I love to do.
Here they are.
1st image is a Lurcher wearing Lacroix!
2nd image is a Chiuaua admiring Monet.

Lovely Lurchers
So it's 10pm and I hadn't done a drawing!
So I thought I'd better do a quick sketch before bed.
So here it is. (Oh I did paint one of yesterdays dogs, I'll take pics tomorrow!)
Night, night.

Quickening the pace.
So this mornings thoughts regarding lesson planning started well, but ended very quickly!
I just wanted to draw and I thought why deny myself the pleasure.
I can plan tomorrow right?
So I began drawing, in a similar way to yestaerday, part blind drawing, part observational.
I'm liking the freedom this gives me.
Slightly wonky, not quite right images, means character and expression, both good.
Below are the original sketches and I will now go on to add colour.
I think I might paint, haven't used paint in a long time!
Results to follow.

Loosening up!
So tonight I set myself a task, quick drawings.
Some blind drawings, where I did not look at the page at all, others a bit of looking and not looking.
These are the results.
(colour added after drawing has been completed!)
It's nice not to be precious and see what happens.
I need to do more of this, with my drawing and just life in general.
I will start as of now.

Homage - No 2
It's nice to have a theme/brief.
When you can't think properly it makes being creative a little less taxing.
I have some wonderful friends, I feel very priveledged to know them and have them in my life.
Cheesy? Yes, but totally true!

Homage To A Friend - No 1
So it's a new year!
And what does it have in store for us all?
Let's hope plenty of nice times and happiness.
I feel like I haven't been creative for an age!!
Just far to long between posts, drawing, stitching and just enjoying seeing what happens.
This is always a nice time as I'm never sure what to expect.
But so far this chap has occured and I like him, Homage To A Friend No 1.
Absolutely Fabulous - PSB
