Talking, thinking..........

Been thinking a lot.
Could be dangerous, so I'll stop for a bit!
Been writing down what inspires my work, where it all comes/came from.
It's actually a bit more deep than I think I ever wanted to realise.
This came to attention when the words 'light relief' came out my mouth.
Still all knowledge is power etc. Getting to know yourself can be hard going, but so ultimately worth while.

Here's another cat to add to the crew.

"Light Relief"

More cats and New York inspired collage.
Lovely Claire came round today.
We talked about my work and where it all comes from.
Turns out it's always been a "light relief".

Which is all good, and pleased for the chat.
Thanks you, for spending the time x x

Cat Inspired By NY Collages

So from the collages I've been doing I though I'd mingle it with the cats, oh and the florals!!!
Too much?
Who knows, who cares even!!
I'm enjoying it.

More NY inspired collages.

So. since yesterday I've done about 15 collages.
I'm so enjoying. Even made myself a loom!!!!
Not sure how that will turn out, but I'm gonna give it a shot.

So here's some more.
Some recognisably buildings, windows etc, others more abstract.
Williamsburg bridge is in there.
Honestly, they have all come form my photo's.
I wouldn't lie.

Inspired by The Big Apple

What an enjoyable morning.
Coming up with ideas for pattern based textiles or prints or both.
Who knows, but I've been enjoying it immensely.
Electrical tape, masking tape and felt pens are my tools today!
So nice to be playing.

Exciting new beginnings!

So this week I feel I feel I've achieved alot.
Details to follow at a later date, but for now.....
I'm back on the Irish!!!
It's been a while, I'm a little rusty, but a good effort for such a long time away from my trusted machine.

Like my lovely friend Claire Loder, it's time to start some new work.
I feel I have the head sapce and time to devote to it now.
So watch this space.
This isn't a cushion, yet.
I've got more to do, but for now, it's as it is.
Might make some fabric ornaments, we shall see.
happy weekend. xx

Poodle Doodle!

What a week of partying, celebrating, catching up with friends, degree shows, eating, drinking, eating, drinking, drinking, meeting new folk and generally having a nice time.

Here's a majorly quick sketch I did earlier.

Productive? Yes, in between distractions.

One commission down, and on the back of a scan sent to the customer I now have another!
It is a fact that all my customers are totally lovely, what a nice way to earn a living.
So in between doing paid work I'm distracting myself with Broadcast and drawing more dogs!!

Tomorrow my wonderful friend  Ben Copperwheat arrives in Bath.
I had the pleasure ( he had the patience) of staying with him in New York for 5 weeks back in September and what a fabulous time I had.
And to add to the bonus of that, it's my birthday.
A nice week ahead, with the Bath Spa Uni degree show on Friday and ending it by celebrating Mr Hamiltons birhtday also.

Inspired by Ralph

Started to do some quick drawings to try and get me to loosen up, plus come up with some new ideas for cards and prints.
Long overdue and time to get my act together me thinks!
A nice nice end to a nice weekend.

A shout goes out to the fabulous Mrs Ralph for being a stupendous friend and talented lady!
Susie has two beautiful dachshunds, Bentley and Weenie, who are spoilt rotten!!
I salute you. x x x

Felines, Flowers, Cheese and Talented Friends.x

So yesterday I went to the bath and West Show to see the Bath Spa Fashion and Textiles show of their cheesy creations!
They did such a fabulous job, so well done to all involved. And getting such good press. X
Then onto the American Museum to see the Creative Arts students show, which was also fab.
All in the wonderful company of my dear and stupendous friend Susie Ralph, a true gem (love you!).
Although I couldn't make it, my other lovely and talented friend Miss Hannah Buswell had her show at the RCA.
She is someone most definitely to look out for. Utterly lovely and tremendously talented.

So that's that! A lovely day in general. x
Here's a quick sketch, still enjoying the florals and felines!
