Monday Hello!

Hope you had a fabulous weekend and feel as happy as Hamilton does : )

This weekend I went to the wedding celebrations of two dear friends.
Saw more dear friends that I haven't seen in a while and the other half got to meet them all in one go
: )
A lovely weekend, of much dancing, much laughter and eating chips and curry sauce with the bride in the early hours of Sunday morning! (I might be getting too old for this : )

Their first dance.

Olympic Inspired Canines!

A little bit of perspex, some pens and cutting and sticking, results in the below.
Getting a few illustrations together inspired by the games.
There's a lot of talk about it, so why not join in the fun!

A few people I know that are volunteering are getting very excited about the opening ceremony.
Quite intrigued now : )

Monday Morning Sketch

I had a totally lovely weekend. You?
The sun's out here and it was very much needed.
So off to Weston Super Mare on Saturday with a stop on the way back in Wells.
Sunday was spent walking along canals and bumping in to friends resulting in tea out. Nice

Here's a morning sketch of ornaments for you!
(excuse the colour for being a bit dull, photoshop has died on my computer, not sure why!)

Have a fabulous day.

A cat called Kip

Thursday already, blimey, where has the week gone?

Just wanted to share one of my recent commissions.
A cat called Kip.
Kip belongs to Cat, a feline loving lady who contacted me after my post on Catsparella.
(Catsparella by the way has been nominated for The Petties 2012 Pet Blog Awards, go vote and help raise money for a good cause!)

Always a pleasure to illustrate beautiful felines and flowers.
Not a bad job to have ; )

Art, 80's music and new drawings

This weekend I had the utter pleasure of seeing Grayson Perry's 'The Vanity Of Small Differences' exhibition at the Victoria Miro gallery.

I wasn't expecting to be so moved by them.
It wasn't really anything to do with the subject matter.
It was more to do with the colour, pattern and composition of each piece. Exceptional in so many ways.
Having studied a Creative Arts, combined course at university in Art and Textiles, my first love has always been with drawing, but this has only truly become evident in the past few years.
Seeing the combination of  illustration and textiles together on such a large scale was really breathtaking.
If you can, go. You won't be disappointed.

The above was then contrasted with a night at an 80's club. Lovely to see friends and dance to total cheesy music ( a guilty pleasure)!

And today, a new illustration. Silvertips was the title of a past illustration. This one is a follow up, where he finds love : )

Wrigley the wonder dog : )

Last week I had the pleasure and delight of having Wrigley as a model.

For those of you that don't know Wrigley, he is the canine companion of Capree, editor at Dog Milk.
Dog Milk and Capree have been super lovely to me over the past few years, always giving shouts out when I've had new work or a deal.
Thanks you lovely people, always appreciated: )

Here's Wrigley.
I'd so love to draw Beans and Smash x

Some recent commissions of glorious canines : )

A quick update to say hello and show off some of these glorious canines.

1st up is Dave, a totally dapper and handsome chap.
2nd on the list is Mr. Oliver, completely cute in his collar and tie!
And last but no means least, a personal favourite, Flora. Utterly gorgeous.

Thanks to all my lovely customers, I so enjoy what I do : ) x x

Rediscovered the joys of Hyperballad this week, so good.
How did I forget.

A week of Cats!

Last week was a week of cats for me.
I've had lots of commissions of our feline friends as well as a lovely feature by Stephanie on Catsparella.

Stephanie lives in New Jersey with her two cats Charlie and Priscilla.
What started out as an e-mail address and screen name soon turned into her website.
You can read about how the name for Catsparella began life here.
It's now an award winning cat culture blog!
Thanks for the lovely mention Stephanie x x

Also The Art Cake was having a feline inspired Friday!
I've been fortunate to get featured on there too.
You can see some of Christi, who writes Art Cakes work here.

Another cat to add to the mix and that I've got the joy of illustrating is the lovely Kip!
Kip, is the cat of Cat, you can see more about them here
So thank you cat lovers, it's been a lovely week : )
