Ceramic Lovers 2

Not that long ago two of my ceramic ornaments fell in love.
We were not sure if there was a love triangle going on, it's still unknown.

These two though, are totally head over heels. I can confirm there is no third party : )
Nothing nicer than meeting somebody and getting 'that' feeling.
She's a little ditzy, he pretends to be tougher than he is.

Pleased that they have brought some sunshine and colour with them.
We all need it, when the nights draw in.

Cat Crusader!

This feline thinks he's on it, but I'm not so sure!
Either way, it's nearly Halloween and there's lots of talk of parties this weekend.

Doodling A Dashing Daschund

I've got plenty on at the minute, but I'm missing having a bit of a doodle, just for me and for no reason.
So decided to draw a dashing daschund.

Using trophies that I made a while back as inspiration for pattern.

A Slightly Vampish Canine!

This is Churri, a commission from a little while back.
I thought she was worth sharing as she's sort of vampish!

I'm not sure she would agree, but there is no denying that those teeth, ears and black hoodie make her look a little bat like.
Either way she is great, and with tons of character.

I've just finished a commission as a gift for a recently married couple.
Their dog Eddie was the ring bearer, sweet!

It's winging it's way to them now.

Ceramic Dogs = Nice things to draw

Last week, was busy but good, topped off with a lovely relaxing weekend.
I managed to squeeze in a bit of drawing.
Ceramic dogs never fail to get me in the mood for sketching.
That and a bit of doodling, and I'm pretty happy.

Hello. How's the week treating you?
This week is going by in a flash.

Nice things have happened this week.
I got a mention on the fabulous Kickan & Conkers blog.
Lots of lovely things tracked down and shared by Deborah Beau, who also runs Poppytalk Handmade Artists, equally as good.
As well as that, today I got a feature on Frankie! Lovely surprise to greet me this am.

Inspired By Teaching

Hello, hope you had a lovely weekend.

Last week I was teaching taking 1st year BA students for drawing sessions.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was great to see some people loosening up, others improving and trying new things.
So on Saturday I gave myself a task of completing drawings in a minute or two.
These are part blind drawings, that where then very quickly touched up in Photoshop.
Sometimes it's very refreshing not to be too precious. : )

Pixie In Paris - A Very Chic Chihuahua

The weekends almost here.
I've had a great week back doing uni teaching. Drawing with 1st year students, seeing what 2nd years have been up to and hearing what the 3rd years have in store for us in the final year!
All exciting.

As well as the part time lecturing, I've been working on commissions.
This is Pixie, the sister of Piko featured yesterday.
Her story from her owner is, that she is a mademoiselle in Paris.

Such nice things to do. I feel very happy with my lot.
Also the other half went to see Stewart Lee in conversation.
Unable to make it due to work, he suprised me with a signed book : D x
And..... a voucher for a tasting meal at a fancy restaurant. Cheers Steve x

Piko The City Boy - A Chihuahua Looking For Love

I really do enjoy my job, a lot!
Not only do I get to draw, which I never tire of, but I also get to work with some lovely people.

Below is Piko, the grinning Chihuahua from last week.
My brief was as well as wearing a polka dot bow tie - " So the story in this picture tells that Piko is a cosmopolitan boy in New York searching for his partner"
What a nice thing to do : ) x
