I'm Off To New York, And I'm Excited!

I'm off to New York, and I must say I'm very happy about it.
The last, and first time I was there was around 6-7 years ago, and I had a wonderful time.
I found the city to be vibrant, enthusiastic and with a ton of things to see.
I've never looked up so much!

I'm off there for several reason/excuses!
Firstly I'm going to Surtex, not to show, but to help out some lovely ladies on their stand, Cloverly is the collective, and they are all super talented.
Secondly, I'm going to walk the show, see what it's all about.
Thirdly, I'll be seeing and staying with my wonderful and dear friend Ben Copperwheat.
Fourthly, I'll be meeting up with lots of other lovely people that I know, that either live there or are going to be visiting because of the show too!
And finally, I'll be seeing the city, looking at art, enjoying the surroundings and being joined by the other half, Mr Steve, at the end. We've always said we wanted to see it together, so now seems like the best time.

Can't wait. I'll be posting photos. Promise!

A Chihuahua Named Petunia - Pup Art with Barkbox

Hello and welcome to a new week.

Just wanted to let you know about an event I'm taking part in to help rescue dogs.

I was approached by the lovely people of BarkBox to take part in this benefit event that will be hosted in NYC. Pup Art is "A Show For Fluffy Singles" that will help raise money for our four legged friends in need, by selling artwork.

All I needed to do was download the Barkbuddy app (like Tinder for humans, but matches you with your ideal canine friend) choose a canine I fell for and create a piece of work inspired by them.

I choose Petunia, a cross breed of chihuahua and catahoula leopard dog. She's amazing!

I was immediately drawn to her for her fabulous 'old womans' name. Her blue eyes which stared straight back at me and had a very soulful feel to them, and also she had the best markings!
Sadly I can't adopt her as she resides in Brooklyn, NY.
But you can bet your life if I lived there I'd be making a trip to visit her in person.

The event of all artist work involved will be help at:

On the 9th October from 6-8pm.

So if you're lucky enough to live in NY, head down there. Grab yourself some art, help out those gorgeous mutts and get a free glass of wine ; )

1000 Dog Portraits - My Mutts Are In A Book!

I am so thrilled to be included in the fabulous 1000 Dog Portraits book by Robynne Raye.

Last year there was a call out to submit portraits of different breeds for possible inclusion in the book, and I found out a few months ago that I was included.

Today I received my copy through the post, and to my even greater delight I have 5 portraits in there.
There are so many fantastic pieces to look at, from a wide variety of talented artists. Who'd have thought canines could be drawn in so many different styles!

If you are a dog lover, or know some one that is crazy about canines then this book would make a great gift.
