Hasn't the 80's revival been and gone?

Not according to my brain it hasn't!
Feeling a strong urge towards blocks and prominent shapes.
I'm just working through ideas for cushions.
Still!!
The possibilities are of course endless.
Today though in the true nature of deciding not to care.
I've produced stuff I'm liking.
Always the way.
Think too much about things and it's never as good as you hoped!

Had my cards back from the printers this week.
I'm rather happy with them.
Last night was spent putting them and envelopes into cello bags!
This was made less dull by watching 2 episodes of The Wire.
I love it.
I'm so behind with the times, I know, only on Series 2.
Still think of all the excitement that's ahead of me.
Think it's on Series 5 now.

Back to the cards.
They will be available to buy either direct from me or in Scarlet Vintage.
For those of you unaware of Scarlet Vintage, go find it and have a rummage.
The shop is run by Debbie, who is not only extremely friendly but also has a keen eye for beautiful garments and accessories.
She regularly heads over to LA to source out unique vintage clothing.
Well worth a look.

A whole week!

Can't believe a whole week has gone by since my last post.
A disgrace!
Still I have been busy with other things, so I'll let myself off.
Last weekend I went to see The Duchess Of Malfi.
This was a production between Punchdrunk and The ENO.
I have to say that out of the 3 productions I've seen by Punchdrunk, it was my least favourite!
Saying that though it was still a great experience.

Working on more ideas for cushions.
I'm unsure, but I will continue.
My greeting cards arrived too.

Cushions, pugs and euro beats

This morning I've been working on some cushion ideas.
I'm not great at Illustrator but plodding on.
Whilst working I have been listening to some Euro synth.
(is that even a musical genre?!!)
I quite like working to mental music.

Short and swift

Yesterday I continued with my Illustrator mission.
The focus is for a competition run by Cloth Kits.
The brief was entitled Future Vintage, with the emphasis on 50's, 60's and 70's pattern and dress.
I have chosen 60's mod style.
Short and sweet shifts.
The ideas below are meant to be seen as dress fronts, with clear definition between, neck line, waist and hem line.
I have enjoyed playing and creating.

have spent my morning trying to learn more about Illustrator!
It does not come naturally to me.
Simple patterns and shapes is as much as I can manage at present.
I will persevere and get better.

I know I'll feel much better once I've begun another project.
Today I have drawn Bella.
I see her as a sophisticated lady (from the 70's)!
Not really sure why.

Painting after so many years.

Well today I thought I'd dig out my paints.
They haven't seen light of day for so long.
I was surprised to find them not completely dried up.
Below is the results.
I've tried to not be precious.
Quite liked it, nice to use a coloured ground for a change.

Hello.
I was in London yesterday for New Designers.
The day was a great success for Bath Spa University.
Awards won, samples bought, opportunities to exhibit!
Everyone did great, congrats to you all.

Today I finished my commissioned piece.
The response from the commissioner was great.
Of course she's only seen photo's but was delighted.
Good for her and me!!

The dog below was supposed to resemble a royal type mutt.
Ben said she looks more religious.
Matters neither way.
