100 Day Project! First 3 Flowers

I've decided to dedicate some time to the 100 day project.

I'm basing it on drawing, painting, collage etc.

So far I've done 3 days, all floral based. 

Setting a time limit and seeing what I can do in less than 30 minutes.

Dogs And Matisse!

Hello there,

I was meant to post this last week, but the time has flown and here I am 5 days later!

Last weekend I went to see Matisse Cut-Outs at Tate Modern. 

What a total joy, it was.

Ever since my collage days I have been a huge admirer of his work.

Colour, pattern, the subject matters, what's not to love.

To see these pieces in the flesh, the scissor marks and drawing pin holes that go into making them was utterly fabulous.

The scale of some works were huge and lost none of the appeal.

If you can, go. It won't disappoint.

A Bit Of Collage

Today I just fancied doing some collage.
So a vintage vase, a porcelain canine, flowers, plates and striped wallpaper were the focus.

Pastel Baby Boston

Hope your week is going well.

I'm feeling a softness at the minute, might be the weather changing, might just be my mood.
Who knows, but always good to go with how you're feeling.

So this week as well as creating some human portraits I've been listening to lots of talks by Maira Kalman. (Who, I am finding extremely inspirational, but more about that another time) and thinking about creating a new sketchbook.
This is to spark of ideas and just to get me thinking, doodling and playing around.
Just to see what happens!

For now though, I will leave you with a baby Boston. x

The Bath Priory + Ceramic Flower + Ceramic Dog = A good weekend

Hello,
Hope you had a glorious weekend.
I went for my first ever Michelin Star meal on Saturday lunchtime.
The Bath Priory was the venue and it was super good.
From delightful surroundings, to good wine, the best hot bread I've had in a looong time, delicious desserts ( that's right 2, well one was the petit fours, but trust me, it was a second dessert ) and exceptional company.
Overall a total winner. If you can go, and fancy a treat, then do. You won't be disappointed.

As well as the above it I managed to do a bit of drawing. Here's some of my shelf decorations.
Not quite as fancy as the Priory's decor, but it suits me fine : D x

Etsy Shop New Arrivals

I now have added a range of A4 giclee prints to my Etsy shop.

These, of course include canines, but now have the added bonus of cats and florals in the collection!
It's been a while coming and still more to add but here are a few for now.

Best In Show - Olympic inspired

Quick doodle inspired by the Olympics, vaguely!
Love using electrical tape to create pattern.
Such a nice thing to handle and stick down.

A day of sorting, rearranging.
Which has made me make decisions for future work/prints.
Thanks to certain folk too for being ace : )

If only I was delivering them by hand.
Instead I am waiting in for Parcel Force to arrive.
No where near as fun!

But in this waiting period I have been collaging!
Always a pleasure.

More Nonesense!

So I've been having a nice response for my floral's and more recent doodles, so...
I'm going to eventually get round to getting some prints done, of both latest pieces and some of the pooches.

Behind the times big time but eventually getting into Mogwai and digging out some of this.

Talking, thinking..........

Been thinking a lot.
Could be dangerous, so I'll stop for a bit!
Been writing down what inspires my work, where it all comes/came from.
It's actually a bit more deep than I think I ever wanted to realise.
This came to attention when the words 'light relief' came out my mouth.
Still all knowledge is power etc. Getting to know yourself can be hard going, but so ultimately worth while.
