Playing With Pattern

It's taken me a while but I've got round to doing a few new repeats and ordering some samples.
I've really loved drawing the vintage dolls and toys for my MATS course.

So I thought I'd take the opportunity to turn some of them into a repeat.
More to come soon, this time with canines.

Vintage Jewellery And Zipper Purses!

Hello, and apologies for my lack of post of late.
Very Busy!!

One of the things that has been taking up my time (in a good way) is the Lilla Rogers MATS course.
The last assignment on this course was giftware and to design a zipper purse, make-up bag to some of us, based on personal collections.
I chose my vintage brooch collection, which is full of animals, bows and flowers.
Hyper-lush and symmetrical were two requirements. Perhaps not something I would normal use, but I loved the whole process.
Here's some sketches and the final hand in assignment.

Blooming Marvellous!

I cannot tell you how much I've been enjoying the Lilla Rogers MATS course.
The amount of work I've been producing has been fantastic and I'm developing my ideas more and more.
Just sad that next week will be the end of the course.
Still one more week to enjoy and push myself.

This week was Wall Art, and I was given the colours red and orange to play with.
Below are my two pieces. The second is my final assignment piece. I've already had an order for one as a print! Nice x x x

What I've Been Up To - MATS Week 1

I may have been a little quiet of late, and here's the reason why.
I decided to go 'Back To School' and take up the Lilla Rogers MATS course.

The first week came and went with a blink of an eye. Sketching, playing, collaging and being a student meant the time whizzed.
Already, the course has proved to be so informative, creative and the fellow students (across the globe) are all unique and inspiring.
I'm having a great time!
The first week was to look at berries and casseroles for the Bolt Fabric market, you can see the end results below.

What I want to get from the course are the following things:
To free me up more.
To challenge myself with subject matters and mediums.
Push me out of my comfort zone.
Learn about different markets.
And to sell more of my art!

Love Lillas saying that "People Will Buy Your Joy".
Glaming up and putting on happy music always helps with the process too : ) x x x
