Wish You Were Here!

Hello and a happy Friday to you!
It's been a busy one here and as well as that I lost my voice this week (bliss for some, not so much for me ; ) I seem to be returning to full working order though.

As well as plenty of commissions and a few days teaching I managed to squeeze in some doodling.
Vintage ceramics and postcards were the choice.
Here's Wish you Were Here x x x

Mantelpiece Meet-Ups - A Sculpture I'd Like To Own.

Recently I've been looking at a lot of ornaments, statues and sculpture.

Vintage ornaments, combined with pattern and colour lead to this regal chap being created.
I've always like the idea of creating ornaments and shelf decoration in pen and ink that I would never be able to own, either through lack of money, or that I just haven't found yet!

Sunday Sketch - Looking Forward

Hello, hope your weekend is a fabulous one.
This week, although being busy, I've made an attempt to slow things down.
It's nice to give myself some time. To relax, think about things and enjoy the moment a bit more.
Looking Forward to the coming months, as lots will be happening.

Mantelpiece Meet-Ups - Ode To Picasso

Good morning!
I'm now back from my holiday to Barcelona, which, if I may say, was fantastic.
Other than generally relaxing, soaking up the sights and eating nice grub, I also made a trip to the Picasso Museum.
I was so awestruck by the work exhibited. I've always been a fan, but to see so much work up close, and spanning his whole career was a total joy.
So here is my Mantelpiece Meet-Up Ode To Picasso, and Lump, the Dachshund that lived with the artist for 6 years.  X X X

Mantelpiece Meet-Ups - Second Thoughts

Someone seems to be having doubts about their decision.
On second thoughts, perhaps they were too hasty.
It appears all is not lost.........

A Mantelpiece Meet-Up - Ceramic Lovers

This Mantelpiece Meet-up is a casual affair.
Two friends enjoying each others company, and discussing art.
That of Mr Lichtenstein to be exact. Of which I had the pleasure of seeing lots of at the weekend at The Tate Modern.
Bold colour and graphic lines are right up my street, and the ceramic duos. : D x

Ceramic Lovers 2

Not that long ago two of my ceramic ornaments fell in love.
We were not sure if there was a love triangle going on, it's still unknown.

These two though, are totally head over heels. I can confirm there is no third party : )
Nothing nicer than meeting somebody and getting 'that' feeling.
She's a little ditzy, he pretends to be tougher than he is.

Pleased that they have brought some sunshine and colour with them.
We all need it, when the nights draw in.

Have a fabulous evening, whatever you're up to.
