Recently I've been looking at a lot of ornaments, statues and sculpture.
Vintage ornaments, combined with pattern and colour lead to this regal chap being created.
I've always like the idea of creating ornaments and shelf decoration in pen and ink that I would never be able to own, either through lack of money, or that I just haven't found yet!

Rather Regal Canines
Been a little obsessed with drawing greyhounds the past few days.
Looking at Art Deco ornaments and kitsch items in general.
These two lovelies are the result x x x

Mantelpiece Meet-Ups - The Stand Up
Someone's been stood up.
A flower has been left as a way of an apology.
Perhaps all is not lost.....

Art, 80's music and new drawings
This weekend I had the utter pleasure of seeing Grayson Perry's 'The Vanity Of Small Differences' exhibition at the Victoria Miro gallery.
I wasn't expecting to be so moved by them.
It wasn't really anything to do with the subject matter.
It was more to do with the colour, pattern and composition of each piece. Exceptional in so many ways.
Having studied a Creative Arts, combined course at university in Art and Textiles, my first love has always been with drawing, but this has only truly become evident in the past few years.
Seeing the combination of illustration and textiles together on such a large scale was really breathtaking.
If you can, go. You won't be disappointed.
The above was then contrasted with a night at an 80's club. Lovely to see friends and dance to total cheesy music ( a guilty pleasure)!
And today, a new illustration. Silvertips was the title of a past illustration. This one is a follow up, where he finds love : )

The simplicity of a line!
There is something about drawing with a pen that I love.
The mistakes have to be kept and the simplicity of a line is something that always fascinates me.
David Hockney was the first person to really grab me.
Still by far my favourite are his line drawings.
Beautiful and inspirational.
Not quite a Hockney, but nice to do! : )
Wish the video was better for this, but nice to listen to all the same.
This popped up today to, always nice to hear a bit of Orbital.

Charm and Elegance.
August proved to be a month of travel, opportunity and nice things.
I met a fabulous dandy by the name of David Carter.
Who owns a beautiful hotel called 40 Winks.
David is a true gentleman, exuding charm, sophistication and intrigue!
My stay at 40 winks was a fabulous experience that I would suggest anyone try.
What could be nicer than gin cocktails and tales being told by your host?
As well as this I had the delight of visiting Scotland, South Queensferry to be precise.
Meeting gorgeous people and soaking up the surroundings.
Greyhounds have always been a creature that I find exceptionally elegant and stylish.
How I would describe my stay at 40 Winks.
