Hurricane, The Canine With The Best Name And Hairdo!

Sorry it's been a while.

It's been a busy time, but all good and I'm getting to do the thing I love most, draw canines.
So here's Hurricane, quite frankly the best name, and with the best hairdo!

I'll leave you with him for now, and I'll be back soon : )
Bonus being I got to draw him twice.

Catching Up On Here! 3 Fabulous Commissions

It's been a while! Sorry, got busy after returning from New York.
(which I will post about very soon, it was very good)

Before I do that I need to share with you these 3 gorgeous commissions that happened before I went.
I was even able to deliver them by hand, in NYC!

Sadly two of these beautiful canines are no longer with us. I know they will be greatly missed, and I also know that the portraits will be totally treasured.
As I've said many times before I'm always very honoured to be given the duty of capturing memorial portraits. To be trusted with them is something I never take for granted.

Thank you Emma, I loved having them as models.
So here's Koko, Winnie and Valentino.

Always love the commissions I get around this time of year.

Paddy The Cocker Spaniel With Flower Crown

It's been a busy week for commissions and project work.

I had the pleasure of creating a portrait of Paddy, who turns 14 very soon.
Apparently he's a fan of a flower crown.
Who am I to deny such things.

Bonjour and happy weekend.
Hope the week has been a productive and good one for you.

I'm still finding my feet in the new house, new routines and surroundings are becoming very familiar now and getting in to a new pattern of working.
All good and loving the change.

You Can't Beat A Grumpy Face

No matter what happens, I always come back to a grumpy face.
It's what drew me to drawing canines.
I love to imagine what they are thinking.

This is Alice, she needs no fuss.
She's pretty fantastic as she is.

Vintage Poodle Tin Portrait - Available Soon x

This week as well as working on commissions I've been doing some packing for the big move from Bath to Oxford!
It's meant I've had some time to appreciate some of my collected tat that I can at times overlook.
These vintage tins with canines on them are just a few of those things.
It inspired me to draw a vintage tin poodle portrait : )

There's plenty of scope for added kitschness with these.
I look forward to be able to offer them very soon.

Mantelpiece Meet-Ups - Second Thoughts

Someone seems to be having doubts about their decision.
On second thoughts, perhaps they were too hasty.
It appears all is not lost.........

Custom Portrait Give Way

Hello,

After feeling appreciative for what I do and then a share of my Boston Bowtie pattern from the lovely Dog Milk, yesterday was a good day!

It turns out I'm now only 16 folk away from the big 500 on my Facebook page. To celebrate this I'll be giving away a Custom Portrait.

All you need to do, if you haven't already is 'like' my page and send an e-mail to info@studio-legohead.com with the subject of "Custom Giveaway" and you'll be entered into the draw.
So share with friends and hopefully I'll be in touch : )

Cheers for all your support and loveliness, it's the best. x x x

Feeling Appreciative - A Terrier Sends Some Love x

Today was one of those days when you feel so appreciative for what you do.

Firstly I'm moving soon, to a beautiful city, to be with someone special and excited for new adventures.
Then I get a lovely message from someone I really admire about my work.
I then get to chat to a friend I have made via my work. She doesn't live in the UK, we've never met in person, but who brightened my day.
My mum calls to tell me the injured pigeon hasn't got a broken wing and the wildlife vet says it will be fine after a few days on some antibiotics. Yay!
I get to draw for a living, which is pretty damn good.
And you just never know what will happen next. That's a good day x x x

Sending some Terrier love.

Dottie The Rottweiler

I had a fabulous birthday weekend in London.
Lunch at Dinner and then a trip to the Royal Albert Hall for some classical music.
A meet up with some friends and the sun came out (intermittently)
2013, the year I went fancy. Thanks Mr. B x x

So it made sense for the last few days to focus on some classy canines.
This is Dottie, the rottweiler of refined taste : )
